Weird Existing Animals

Call for Mail Art: Weird (existing) Animals! Platypus, Tapir, Okapi, Echidna, Mole, Axolotl are some of my favourite animals. They have in common that they exist irl and that they are uncommon. Which animal do you think odd? Send your image of an unusual (existing, no fantasy) animal. All media are welcomed, preferable postcard size (10x15 cms), maximum A4 (20x30 cms). No jury, no fee, no return. All weird existing animals will be published in this ongoing virtual exhibition.

Elefantus

I'm not sure whether this postcard is meant for the Real Weird Animals project. But sure the Elephant is an interesting and weird animal, so I'm happy to have received this postcard from Elefantus!

Lindenhof

Thanks to the two collage postcards sent by the German artist group Lindenhof a lot of weird animals are added to this project!

Alas some animals are in a real bad position, either stuck to a fly-paper or serving for food...

The great thing about Mail Art, to my opinion, is not only that artists from all over the world meet by sending art to each other, but also that Post itself adds peculiar interesting pieces to the art, for example on this front side of Lindenhof's card:

I think this strange animal has eyes and noses at very strategic points. A clever creature.
