Ruud Janssen (9)

Sent by Ruud Janssen from the Netherlands, this awesome artistamp. The artistamp is showing Ruud himself and has been designed by Domenico Ferrara Foria, in honour of the 35th anniversary of the International Union of Mail Artists (IUOMA), which takes place this year! Ruud is the founder of this great network.

The artistamp arrived in this envelope, which is an alibi to post the mail art here: there are animals on it!

Funny detail might be the fact that the snail mail snail and Year of the Dog stamp have been designed by me :-) Always nice to see them travel.
I've sent the original stamps to Ruud Janssen, because he also is curating the TAM rubberstamp archive.

Also in this envelope this bright work of art arrived:

Created by Ruud Janssen. I guess it is named bits and bytes, or some other name?!?

Thank you very much, hartelijk dank, Ruud!

K Rolina Artist

I was surprised by K Rolina, who sent me a pretty envelope, with inside a beautiful booklet containing eight collages.
Above you see two of them, below the front side of the booklet:

And the back side of the colourful envelope:

Thank you very much, K Rolina!

Jimmy Connors (8)

Lovely Birds and a nice word play by Jimmy Connors. 'Gans' (in both German and Dutch) means 'Goose'. So it is clear the animals above are HooliGans!

Inside the decorated envelope some goodies arrived, like this matchbox named 'Vögel und Fische', which means 'Birds and Fish':

And look at this Mail Pigeon on a mail certificate (of which I have to find out how it works to send mail - and in what locations, a mystery since the last Dutch post offices has disappeared in 2010) (I think I'll keep this UPU paper as it is, because it is beautiful!

Thank you very much, vielen Dank, Jimmy!

Tonipoet (9)

Great shoes, the Walrus has!
The Carpenter is on the other ATC. The characters are of the wellknown book about Alice.
By the way, at IUOMA there's a group on Alice's 'Through the Looking Glass'.

Both ATC's have been created by ToniPoet and arrived in this envelope:

On the envelope Toni added a great stamp of someone reading mail.

And on the back there is this tiny lovely Horse:

Thank you very much, Toni!

Gin

Great portrait, drawn by Gin.

And an add and pass:

Thank you very much, Gin!

Mail Art Martha (10) and Cascadia Artpost (5)

Great documentation of Mail Art Martha's and Cascadia Artpost's mail art project 'Sending out the Clowns'. See also The Clown Parade.
Thank you very much, the two of you!

Milw

As you probably have noticed, especially when you have sent Animals Mail Art to me, I am much behind in posting the wonderful mail art I received so far.
To the pictures I am posting I want to add the right, matching words. However, being a kind of perfectionist, and having other parts of daily life taking a lot of my time, posting takes this much time, that in fact I even don't post anyway.

From visiting other mail artists' blogs I learned that words aren't necessary at all. And of course it should be like that: art speaks for itself, most of the time.

Therefore, from now on, I will try to keep up posting, under the motto "More images, less words" :-)

FinnBadger (15)

I love this Polar Bear, drawn by FinnBadger. While I always draw too many details, this illustration shows that 'less is more'.
The Polar Bear traveled from the USA to, yes, to where? To obtain a great and matching United Nations stamp.

And inside the envelope a matching card, which in real is shining bright:

Thank you very much, FinnBadger!

A Deer, a Reindeer and - in addition to 'Prettige Feestdagen' = 'Happy Holidays' - a Happy New Year!
Created by Ti Ar Raden for my 'What or whom is she staring at?' mail art project.

Thank you very much, trugarez vras, Ti Ar!

Katerina Nikoltsou (33)

The New Year 2018 just has started. And in one and half month an other New Year will begin: the Year of the Dog.

The mail art Katerina has sent to me a few weeks ago, matches with both years, as you can see!

The front side of the Dog card shows blue:

And inside the envelope there is an other envelope, a red felt one meant for Santa, so to see. But first we park the Squirrels here!

On the back side of the outer envelope there are Katerina's famous stamp prints:

Thank you very much, Katerina, and happy New Years!
