Tonipoet (9)

Great shoes, the Walrus has!
The Carpenter is on the other ATC. The characters are of the wellknown book about Alice.
By the way, at IUOMA there's a group on Alice's 'Through the Looking Glass'.

Both ATC's have been created by ToniPoet and arrived in this envelope:

On the envelope Toni added a great stamp of someone reading mail.

And on the back there is this tiny lovely Horse:

Thank you very much, Toni!

Katerina Nikoltsou (32)

Who could ever have thought that this piece of orange mail art would have something to do with Animals?

Well, it does: Bats on the back side!

And how can this Goldfish be related to Mammals?

Well, just add some Horses on the back!

Created and sent by Katerina from Greece.

Thank you very much, Katerina!

Eva (26)

What would there be in this semi-transparent envelope?

This wonderful fish, of course!
Made and sent by Eva from Spain.

Take a look at the stamps, above, too! An awesome origami elephant is joining, as are Don Quixote, his helper and horse.

Eva added coffee to the outside of the envelope (yummy!), and inside a postcard by German artist Harald Geisler:

Thank you very much, Eva, moltes gracies!

Alan Brignull (2)

Alan Brignull is a great print maker. I am happy to have received this print of the Hedgehog.

It came in this envelope, bottom right you can see a referral to the Adanaland Hedge Fund:

Alan added interesting postage stamps of Royals, along with some other animals: Lions (why do Lions on coats of arms always pull out their tongues?!?), a Griffin, Deer and Horses.

Inside the envelope also this interesting experiment with printing coins:

Thank you very much, Alan!

Dean, Artist in Seine (5)

Received from Dean, Artist in Seine, this great collage. I first thought the animal to be a Donkey, because of the tail and maybe long ears, but then I thought it a Zebra who was losing his or her stripes, thus becoming a Horse. Is my theory correct? I will never know, unless Dean gives a clue :-)

On the back side a Lizard or Varanus, and a ticket-giving-Human, along with some more Human beings.

Thank you very much, Dean!

Richard Baudet (4,5,6,7,8,9)

Richard Baudet added a lot of great findings to my 'add and return' project named "What or whom is she staring at?".
In some of the returned mail art Animals play an important role. Those of course belong here, although I'll post them on the IUOMA site, too.

I've showed one here before. Meanwhile Richard has caused more than once more smiles on my face,by, among them, the added-to-and-returns you can see here.

Thank you very much, merci beaucoup, Richard!

Jade Hutchinson

There are people who say Unicorns don't exist. Animal lovers know better, and here is the beautiful proof!

Some say the Unicorn is a horse who got his horn from a Narwhal, others say the Narwhal owes his or her unicorn to the Unicorn. Which of these is true, I wouldn't know.
Fact is that this is the very first Unicorn who reached my mailbox (apart from a call for unicorn mail art in the past).

Created and sent by Jade Hutchinson.
Thank you very much, Jade!

Pepijn de Jonge

Pepijn de Jonge is a Dutch illustrator whom I got to know via Instagram.
He has published several books and went from the Netherlands to Vienna by foot.
He is creating a great serie of atmospheric illustrations for a book-to-be (please let him know if you happen to be or know a book publisher! :-) ), named 'A Concert for the Moon'.

He surprised me by sending this drawing, which I think is part of that serie.

On the envelope he added this nice artistamp:

Thank you very much, superbedankt, Pepijn!

Eva (17)

These three beautiful envelopes came together, to show one great fish and apt sea animal stamps.
Created and sent by Eva from Spain.

Inside the envelopes not really mail art, but regular cards, however, belonging to the theme - weird real (sea) animals - so I like to share them here with you, too.
Sea animals on the book cover you see above, and on the note card below.

And of course Wallie (where is he??) is surrounded by several sea creatures.

Thank you very much, moltes gràcies, Eva!

Kerosene (8)

Seldom I've seen such a filled and beautiful my-first-letter!

Created and sent by Kerosene from Canada, along with more 'H's'.

Kerosene also sent a call for mail art: Vanitas.

And an add-and-pass, first sent by Fleur Helsingor to Kerosene, then added to and passed to me by Kerosene. See the front and back side here below.

I will add something to it. Let me know in the comments if I shall forward it to you!?!

Thank you very much, Kerosene!

Troebel Neyntje

I've written about Troebel Neyntje on my 'sent' blog. I wished I'd live next to them!
In short, Troebel Neyntje is a gallery in Antwerp, Belgium, and a kind of home to several artists.
One of them is Bert Lezy, who drew this fantastic Dolphin for me.
Maybe he also created the Horse you see below, though I'm 84%, not 100% sure, because there are several other artists connected to this gallery, as you can see on their website.

The envelope also included a small card with a friendly piglet on the front side:

And the word 'achterkant' = 'back side' written on the back side:

Troebel Neyntje really spoiled me, by not only sending mail art but also two stickers. Among them this one. It's from the Bond tegen Veiligheid, which says that 'safety/security ruins more than what is dear to you'.

At the moment the Troebel Neyntje gallery is exhibiting painted bags. You can visit this exhibition until the 24th of May 2015, on Thursdays till Sundays afternoons. So if you happen to be in Belgium, be sure to take a visit and enjoy the flauwekul (intranslatable Dutch/Flemish word) and other artistic expressions by this great group of artists.

Thank you very much, hartelijk dank, Troebel Neyntje!

Barbara Fanta

This poetic Bird - who tells about one of my favourite subjects: letters - has been created by Barbara Fanta from the USA.
It is part of an awesome envelope.

And inside a lovely surprise: a soft tissue heart.

Thank you very much, Barbara!

Ti Ar Raden

Last week, 19th of February, the (lunar) Year of the Sheep / Ram / Goat has started. Exactly a month before I received this wonderful Ram, together with a Bull, Fish, a Cow and a bunch of other Farm Animals on the Cow's back. Created and sent by Ti Ar Raden.
The doodled/tangled Bull is a Pie Noir, the Ram is a Ouessant Ram.

On the other side some great stamps, among them a speedy Turtle and the Ermine (Stoat), the poor latter looses his/her tail to various coats of arms (among them coats from Brittany and the Netherlands) and royal cloaks (among them the Dutch one)... Fortunately the Ermine is alive and kicking in this beautiful artistamp.

Thank you very much, trugarez vras, Ti Ar!
