Rachel Carter

After the Eurasian Coot, it's time to show you an American Coot aka Mud Hen!
Great weird animal, and I always love their funny lobed toes.
And note the animals on the postage stamps!
Created by Rachel Carter from the USA. Besides collages, she makes great drawings, check her 'The First 10,000 Drawings' blog!

Thank you very much, Rachel, for these - more and less - weird real animals!

Kerosene (5)

Beautiful tiny composition of a butterfly on paper stitched on fabric stapled on cardboard.
Thank you very much, Kerosene!

Mary Grellner

Although obviously not meant for this 'Existing Odd Animals' project, I think this cute little giant panda suitable. Because it was turned into an 'Odd Shape Postcard'!
Created and sent by Mary J. Grellner from the USA.

Thank you very much, Mary!

Vizma Bruns

Big surprise from Australia (great country name: AUS ~ !trA liaM), created and sent by Vizma Bruns.

Showing many great rubber stamps as well.
Although not intended for this Real Weird Animals project, I think the Cow, Sheep, Fish, Fly, Butterflies, Humans and hidden Owl just belong here!
Thank you very much, Vizma!

(And surprising to see we've some similarities regarding the choice of visiting card layout!)

Reiner Langer

Several mail artists do agree: one of the most weird animals are we, human beings.
While people call fighting men sometimes 'animals', especially at wars, I think most animals are better than that, because their fights at least have a purpose (getting food, survival of the fittest etcetera).
This mail art I receivd from Reiner Langer from Germany.

Probably not meant for this Real Weird Animals project, but I think it's very apt, showing two mammals, both of them being or threatened to be a victim of violence.
Rainer has a mail art project themed 'WAR', so if you consider to participate, check his website.

Vielen Dank, Reiner!
