Pap & Mam

I started the project already in 2015. And it took me almost two years before I realized: Why not send one of the 'What or whom is she staring at?' cards to the ones who are not on the internet, who are not creative in public, but who at least created me to do so?

Some weeks ago I sent a blank 'What or whom...' card to mam and pap (mum and dad). The latter added this landscape, the cows and some food for thought to the card, and the two of them returned the result to me.

In a few weeks, in the first half of October, both of them will turn 85. They have reached an age of frailty. Nevertheless I hope we will be able to continue this freshly started mail exchange for a long time.

Dankjulliewel, pap & mam!

    1. Thank you, Eva!
And I forgot to ask when posting this, but was and am wondering: how many mail-lovers would mail with (not-necessarily-mail-loving) close friends or relatives?
Do you do send mail, or are you planning to do so, to people you're close with? (apart from your nieces of course :-) )

    2. To my family, I send only postcards when travelling, or in occasions like Christmas/New Year (even if we spend those days together, mostly), birthdays... Then, there are some friends I write to, and communicate also in person. But these are probably also mail-lovers, even if not so mail-addicts as I am.

I know that (almost) everybody is happy to receive mail. But I'm afraid that I'm not that generous. Nowadays, with three/four exceptions, I only write to people who write back. I mean, in general, not necessarily one letter send for every letter received, not necessarily with regularity.

Have I answered to your question?

    3. Oh yes, you did. I think you write more than I do now. I used to send lots of postcards, before I started postcrossing and mail art, from holidays and for certain occasions. However, by lack of postal replies (and my focus now on other mail lovers) it decreased here, too. Still sending postcards to my parents (along with the weekly cryptogram-puzzle from the newspaper), and birthday- and happynewyears cards to family and friends, but that's it. While this add-and-return is a new step in my postal activities, my parents were pleased to reply (although they told me it took them a lot of brain-gymnastics to think what / how to reply :-) )
