FinnBadger (2)

This Cow I once drew after the Cow someone else dear has been drawing. I sent it to Eva, who blogged the Cow here. Then FinnBadger drew one to send to Eva, too.
And then, recently, I suddenly was pleasantly surprised by FinnBadger's version of this Cow. Great work, I love it!

The artistamp came in a cool envelop, showing musicians, a singer. And a hole (the white spot on both the front and back side of the envelope). FinnBadger reminded me of the Dutch expression I once wrote him: 'to jump a hole into the air' (= to be extremely happy by some occasion).
Well, be sure that I am doing this again, now, too!

Thank you very much, FinnBadger!

Erni Bär (5)

Behold the Llama!
Or is it an Alpaca?
Anyway, this animal traveled along with several Humans, and Kurt Schwitters, from Germany to the Netherlands in this great collage, created by Erni Bär.

Thinking of Erni's mail art, of course the Haptic Werewolf comes in mind, too, and fortunately the Werewolf also appeared on this collage.

Check Erni's websites: some of his own art, and received mail art.
Thank you very much, vielen Dank, Erni!

Eni Ilis (2)

Colourful and interesting drawing created by Eni Ilis from Brazil. It arrived in this envelope full of colourful postage stamps - on which the Brazilian mail company has added cancellation stamps in a very mail-arty way.

I love guitars, so I'm very happy to see a part of a guitar on this beautiful envelope, too! Although guitars are not animals, but Musicians are a weird kind of human animals as well (according to the Musician within me).

Update 4th of May 2014:
I made also a photo of the inside of the envelope, which you can see below. Because I discovered such an amazing coincidental thing: inside there's a text about Caymmi. An interview with a Brazilian singer who says: 'Tudo em Caymmi me fascina' (which means: 'Everything in Caymmi fascinates me').
And I'm sure this must be Dorival Caymmi.
Dorival alas passed away in 2008 - and last 30th of April would have been his 100th birthday...
I happened to have made mail art on a text of a song by Caymmi two months ago to send to Ryosuke Cohen. He published it recently, in Brain Cell nr 885. I think it so coincidental!

Pietro Romano Matarrese

This unidentified Real Weird Animal I received from Pietro Romano Matarrese from Italy.
He created it in a wonderful way: by lemon juice on paper.
And also sent it in a extraordinary way: already framed, ready to be put on the wall!
The glass was a little harmed by the travel through the mail, but despite of the little edge broken, it arrived surprisingly well.

Pietro Romano Matarrese is a multi-artist. Both painter and professor/teacher, musician and composer. You can find more information about Pietro in his biography.

An other surprise Pietro has sent, is his CD, named U.P.H.O. (Unidentified Playing High Object). On this CD a variety of instrumental compositions played on electric guitar.

The front cover has been cleverly made: when you look close, you can see the so-called Droste effect:

Thank you very much, grazie mille, Pietro!

His recent album 'Drink' at Amazon and at iTunes.

Another collage created and sent by Erni Bär. You can see Fish, a Lobster, a Human (bear?) being, Musician, and again that strange creature, called Werewolf.
Vielen Dank, Erni!

Guido Vermeulen (3)

'The Singing Bird on Stage', created by Guido Vermeulen from Belgium.

The Owl is sitting on the head of the man of Delos, who expresses what he thinks of the Troika.

Hartelijk dank, Guido!

Tanya / Andy

Although not a self-made postcard, these Weird Animals I definitely think worth adding to this project.
Postcrosser Tanya sent me these. Not only the pink cows are weird (weird not only because they're pink: regarding well, even a usual cow has a lot of peculiar characteristics, I think), but also the beautiful owl, the humans (musicians!) and the deer/bird/butterfly-pottery on the stamps are great!

спасибі, Tanya!
