Jimmy Connors (5, 6)

This colourful Dog/Fox, and much more animals, has been sent by Jimmy Connors from Berlin to the Netherlands.
Sending mail in return seems to be a little harder, but we'll re-try!

A portable postcard!

Note the Birds on the stamp: the Toucan's name in German is a funny one: Pfefferfresser (literally: pepper eater).

And I learned that Frogs can be mammals, too.

Thank you very much, vielen Dank, Jimmy!

Tonipoet (8)

Pictures (mail art, stamps, anything) showing Echidna or Platypus make me extremely happy.

This way Tonipoet succeeded to bring a broad smile on my face and a ton full of energy to my body on a tiring day, by adding this original Echidna stamp to her collage.
The art work is #533 and named "Prehistoric Australia". Although Echidna and other monotremes seem - and are! - prehistoric, fortunately they also live in present Australia.

The Echidna arrived, accompanied by two Easter Bunnies and a Cat, who so to see got lost in Paris but soon will find her way again thanks to the map.

Both cards came in a beautiful Wolf envelope,

Of which the back side is a piece of abstract art in itself:

Thank you very much, Toni!

Katerina Nikoltsou (27)

Spring has started and tomorrow will be Easter. So a good time to show Katerina's bunny here!

Along with the Rabbit an original artistamp arrived. It shows an interesting Bird, apparently created by bird lovers and bird drawers FinnBadger and Stripygoose:

And two contributions to my 'what or whom is she staring at?' mail art project:

Here you see some details, showing a who-hoo-Owl. The complete picture I'll show at the WOWISSA-blog.

The mail came in this nice envelope, showing an other Greek Owl:

And a Greek sports winner:

Thank you very much, Katerina, and Happy Easter!

Katerina Nikoltsou (23)

Happy 2017 from Katerina!

On the back nice circles, and in the envelope she added a great Bunny Reindeer, a personalized one, even, showing my name.

The envelope shows animals, too, a friendly Bear and a Rabbit.
And see the #safetypin, symbolizing solidarity! I recognize it from Thom Courcelle's mail art.

Thank you very much, Katerina!

Katerina Nikoltsou (21)

This wonderful envelope arrived from Greece. It has been created by Katerina Nikoltsou, and is one of the typical 'reversed envelopes' design.
Inside this envelope Katerina has put Banana mail art, a Minion, a Boekie (to be added to and returned) and so-called trashpo.

the Minion:

Greek Dada Trashpo Owl:

It's clear that I have to add to and return this boekie to sender:

On the back side of the envelope these Cats on washi tape:

Thank you very much, Katerina!

Mihaela

This piece of mail art I received via Postcrossing.
Many postcrossers do not want to receive handmade cards and don't send out mail art at all.
But sometimes a postcrosser does, and I always think it a both a pleasure and a treasure, to receive mail created by hand, thus with extra attention.

Recently I received this lovely Owl, which has been made by Mihaela from Bulgaria. She has made it with some help of her elder sister Desi.

To the accompanying letter Mihaela added some more nice (sticker) animals:

And to the envelope a Butterfly stamp.

Thank you very much, Mihaela, Благодаря!

Richard Baudet (4,5,6,7,8,9)

Richard Baudet added a lot of great findings to my 'add and return' project named "What or whom is she staring at?".
In some of the returned mail art Animals play an important role. Those of course belong here, although I'll post them on the IUOMA site, too.

I've showed one here before. Meanwhile Richard has caused more than once more smiles on my face,by, among them, the added-to-and-returns you can see here.

Thank you very much, merci beaucoup, Richard!

Keith S. Chambers (3)

An armed Rabbit and an air mail Pigeon.

Personally I prefer mail to arms, and I wouldn't be surprised if many mail artists do so, too. At least the great artistamps - which were part of the content of this envelope - are hopeful: sunflowers will be growing larger and are reaching higher than tanks do.

Created and sent by Keith S. Chambers.

The front side of the card shows food for thought, a true quote:

Thank you very much, Keith!

Mim

The Mail Pigeon is an important animal in mail history and now has been honoured by a stamp. This Pigeon not only brought this mail art to me but also accompanies the famous mail art historical Rabbit on this great mail art sent by Mim.

The 18th of November was (and next year will be) Banana Appreciation Day. That's why the front side of this mail art shows Bananas. Food for many animals (as long as they eat not too much). Home to many small creatures, like mealybugs and scale insects. And the Banana ex- and import also provides a means of transport to all kinds of animals, like spiders.

Thank you very much, Mim!

Katerina Nikoltsou (16)

In the animal in this collage three forms of Art unite: the art Nature provides us with, the art of rubber stamping / print making, and the art or origami.
And, together with the surroundings of the Camel, the art of creating collages and *yummy* coffee, and, of course, mail art!

Created by Katerina Nikoltsou. She also added a kind little mouse and a rabbit, swinging.

Thank you very much, Katerina!

Kerosene (8)

Seldom I've seen such a filled and beautiful my-first-letter!

Created and sent by Kerosene from Canada, along with more 'H's'.

Kerosene also sent a call for mail art: Vanitas.

And an add-and-pass, first sent by Fleur Helsingor to Kerosene, then added to and passed to me by Kerosene. See the front and back side here below.

I will add something to it. Let me know in the comments if I shall forward it to you!?!

Thank you very much, Kerosene!
