Tonipoet (8)

Pictures (mail art, stamps, anything) showing Echidna or Platypus make me extremely happy.

This way Tonipoet succeeded to bring a broad smile on my face and a ton full of energy to my body on a tiring day, by adding this original Echidna stamp to her collage.
The art work is #533 and named "Prehistoric Australia". Although Echidna and other monotremes seem - and are! - prehistoric, fortunately they also live in present Australia.

The Echidna arrived, accompanied by two Easter Bunnies and a Cat, who so to see got lost in Paris but soon will find her way again thanks to the map.

Both cards came in a beautiful Wolf envelope,

Of which the back side is a piece of abstract art in itself:

Thank you very much, Toni!

This mail art was created by Micu. So sweet! This tiny bird and rabbit (or hare) have arrived safe and sound, to wish me - and all of us/you Happy Holidays!

Thank you very much, Micu!

Mail Art Martha (4)

Mail Art Martha sent me two, no, in fact three treasures: a Rabbit (or Hare?), the famous Mail Snail (on the envelope, both rubber stamp and postage stamp). And artistamps of her Postman, Kevin!

Of course Postmen are people whom we should cherish. On the stamp you can see how he brings both mail art and a smile to Mail Art Martha.
So it's a good idea to dedicate a stamp to this very important person!

Thank you very much, Martha!

Katerina Nikoltsou (8)

Nice experiment: take an addresslist of one of the Brain Cell Life Forms of Ryosuke Cohen, turn it into an envelope, choose one of the addresses, add a stamp and send!
Some envelopes don't arrive, and some do.
For instance this one! Sent from Greece by Katerina Nikoltsou.

Inside the envelope the Blue Bunny, and two cats, and the Ray Johnson Bunny. Animals who deserve to live among all other real (weird) animals here :-)

P.S. The Easter Bunny in Dutch we call 'Paashaas', which means 'Easter Hare'. While the two of them are different animals!

Thank you very much, Katerina!

Ruud Janssen (2)

Short after Ruud's previous animal, I was surprised by an other colourful envelop painting, created by Ruud Janssen from the Netherlands.
I hardly dare to guess which animal this is (I have several ideas) and wanted to remain silent, however Ruud unveiled a little by writing that this animal might be an 'angsthaas'.
We don't know if this animal exists in English language also. But literally 'angsthaas' means 'fear hare', which translated into English suddenly is a total different animal: scaredy-cat.

Thank you so much, Hartelijk dank, Ruud!

Guido Vermeulen (4)

"The Kissing Rabbits" is the title of this envelope, so I thought it a good reason to add it to this website.

The postcard inside is a tribute to Mme Janine Fourez (1926-2013).

All created, and sent from Belgium, by Guido Vermeulen. Thank you very much, hartelijk dank, Guido!

Miranda Vissers

This peculiar 'Paasvlinder' - 'Easter Butterfly' collage was made and sent by Miranda Vissers from the Netherlands.

A funny odd animal. Even more weird is the fact that around Easter, the Easter Bunny is carrying around eggs ('Easter Bunny' in Dutch is 'Paashaas', literally 'Easterhare', no bunny!).
So maybe an Easter Butterfly is less weird. After all, unlike the rabbit, the butterfly is an egg laying animal!

Note the Mail Art flowers and leaves: they have been made from 25 cents and 1 gulden (Dutch florin) postage stamps from the pre-Euro era.

More art work by Miranda Vissers you can find here and here, and her contribution to Your Doctor in Mail Art is this beautiful one.

Many thanks, hartelijk dank, Miranda!
