Nicole Eippers (28)

An envelope showing an impressive animal (and a matching - Europe 2017 - sand castle stamp) arrived from Belgium. Created by Nicole Eippers, and fortunately she added some extra information about this animal inside the envelope.
It is the Squille, in English also named a peacock mantis shrimp, harlequin mantis shrimp, painted mantis shrimp, or clown mantis shrimp (in Dutch a 'bidsprinkhaankreeft', which means literally 'praying mantis lobster')

According to the information, this up to 20 cms large sea animal has eyes which make it possible to watch 360 degrees around, thus he or she is able to see a panorama view.

That will not be the case with the short sighted animal which Nicole also has added to the content of the envelope. It is the Mole, this peticular species being a star-nosed mole:

And there is this picture of the Andrewsarchus, a prehistorical, extinct animal:

On the back of the envelope - which in fact also is the front, as my address was written there, too - you can find Nicole's famous Flying Piggy!

Thank you very much, hartelijk dank, Nicole!

Eva (21)

Eva drew great beetles and other useful tiny creatures and thus made this a wonderful envelope.

Inside a postcard from the 'There's nuffin like a Puffin' book illustration postcards serie. The Water Flea and his friend Water Mite show up on the cover of a book issued in 1964, named 'Pond life'. The illustration was made by Paxton Chadwick.

Thank you very much, moltes gràcies, Eva!

Eva (18)

The most wonderful Animal I have ever seen, I saw today for the very first time in real!
The Fishus Globetrottus, also known as the Globetrotter Fish, was sent to me by Eva.

I think it is an Animal to whom I feel very familiar with, even though I don't have gills anymore.

In case you didn't hear of the Globetrotter Fish before, Eva was so kind to provide us with some scientific information:

The Globetrotter Fish arrived in a colourful envelope, showing aquatic Fish and other Sea Animals.

Fortunately (for me) the envelope first had been returned to sender, and fortunately (also for me) Eva did a second try to send it to the Netherlands. Fortunately for the two of us this time it arrived well, and by it's extra journey, oh fortune, I got an extra Moroccan Fish stamp!

Thank you very much, Eva, moltes gràcies, I love it!

GX Jupitter-Larsen (2)

The same envelope by Ruud Janssen appears to be a source of various interpretations. GX made them. I already was spoiled by beautiful animal stamps, and am happy to see many more of them. Thank you, GX Jupitter-Larsen!

Svetlana Volosiuk

An amazing animal, created by Svetlana Volosiuk from Belarus.

On the back so much more to see. I love languages, so I'm happy that Svetlana added these ephemera in a language which I still have to explore.

And see the beautiful artistamp on the envelope, which matches to the right arm of the weird collaged animal!

More art you can find here, and more mail art by Svetlana you can find on her website.

Thank you very much, Svetlana!

Vizma Bruns (2)

A Platypus from the land of the Platypus: Australia!

Thanks to Vizma Bruns we can learn the story of the Old Man Platypus...

.. and learn how to have a drink while being in a Fish Tank! (My bottle of course contains water, or coffee.)
(What happened to Marie?)

Nice stamps, even a Mailogram and an original Vizma Artistamp!

This Giant Lobster was on the smallest part of the mail:

And this is a piece of fabric which really asks for being added some more stitches to!

And last but not least: a great transparent dotted envelope, with on the stamp... an Echidna, yay!

Thank you very much, Vizma!
