Call for Mail Art: Weird (existing) Animals! Platypus, Tapir, Okapi, Echidna, Mole, Axolotl are some of my favourite animals. They have in common that they exist irl and that they are uncommon. Which animal do you think odd? Send your image of an unusual (existing, no fantasy) animal. All media are welcomed, preferable postcard size (10x15 cms), maximum A4 (20x30 cms). No jury, no fee, no return. All weird existing animals will be published in this ongoing virtual exhibition.

'Ceci n'est pas un aquarium', 'This is not an aquarium'
From Keith S. Chambers two nice envelope arrives. One almost two months ago, containing pretty stamps and Mail Pigeons in front:
The print inside shows a rather, er, dead person, however the dandelion represents new life:
The print came along with great artistamps:
And more artistamps:

And the other - orange - envelope, which arrived two days ago, contained great fish stamps:
'Hippurus hoc non est', 'this is not a goldfish'
And the Fish, shown on top (in not an aquarium), with an autumn poem on the back:
Banana swords:
And two peculiar official USPS stamps on the envelope:

These are wonderful pieces of mail, indeed. I especially like the "postveritas" stamps. Also the Star Trek stamps seem very adequate for that envelope.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThank you - now I see they are from Star Trek!... All the time I was wondering so much what they would mean - first I thought them to be artistamps, even, too :-)
VerwijderenFrom your post, I guessed you didn't know ;-)
