Adamandia Kapsalis (2)

Great mail art Fish from Adamandia Kapsalis from the USA.
Fish are always dear subjects to draw. If you want, don't hesitate to send your Mail art Fish to Adamandia Kapsalis Fish mail art project: 'A Fishy Requisite' (my fish-on-tv were published here).

Thank you, Adamandia!

Nicole Eippers (10)

I always am fond of intercultural relationships. See how kindly they are looking at each other, Nicole's famous Pig and the Grootoorspringmuis, aka Long-Eared Jerboa.

Thank you very much, merci beaucoup, Nicole!

Paint a Fish!

Usually I only publish received mail art animals here. But sometimes exceptions are needed. For instance for the "Paint a Fish!" project. This campaign aims to restore EU fish stocks for future generations.

You can add your fish to the gallery by drawing your fish online or by uploading your picture, in order to help building a big virtual stock to tell EU leaders to take action to refill the seas.

Thank you Grietje Keller for attracting my attention to this great (and - sadly - necessary) campaign!

Nicole Eippers (9)

This collage of a real weird animal was made and sent by Nicole Eippers from Belgium.
I am happy that Nicole mentioned the name of this funny creature on the back side: otherwise I never would have known that this is a squid, an upside-down swimming Helicocranchia pfefferi aka banded piglet squid! Such a funny looking animal!

An other funny thing is, that this picture makes me think of a Pig. Even of a piggy bank, don't you think so? If you do, create a Piggy piece of mail art and check Nicole's website to know where to send your pigs mail art to!

And note how apt the postage stamp is. While the ladies are doing synchronized swimming (in Dutch we call it 'kunstzwemmen' = 'art swimming'), below them the wonderful underwater world is alive and kicking (and smiling)!

Thank you very much, merci beaucoup Nicole!

Kerosene

It's so miraculous (and weird!), the metamorphosis of butterflies.

Received from Kerosene from Canada.

And note so many kinds of animals on the backside: a bird, a human (skull), an other insect (I always wonder why people say 'aah' to butterflies and meanwhile slash these other innocent insects) and on the stamp a snake (whose year is soon to begin!).

Thank you very much, Kerosene!

Bea Savellano

Collage showing several kinds of animals! A bird, fish, a mollusc, and on the backside (see below) an insect. And if you look well, you can find even a mammal, too!

Sent from the USA by Bea Savellano. Thank you very much, Bea!

Arac

'A Gordon's mossy frog plays dead', to fool the predator.
And on the backside a long-nosed monkey.
Beautiful collages, made and sent by Arac from the USA.
